SecureCRT gives you extensive session management options. Name your sessions, save and recall session settings, and configure custom keyboard, display, connection and other settings for each session. Working with a large number of connections is made easier with the dockable Active Sessions Manager. Use the filter bar to quickly locate specific sessions as well as local shells, scratchpads, and open scripts.

On Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 or later, you can open a local shell session within SecureCRT. A tabbed CMD or PowerShell session makes it easy to work on the local system without having to leave SecureCRT.

Save time by using the new built-in script editor with syntax highlighting to create and modify local scripts. Use the scratchpad tab or tile to write notes or copy and paste configuration commands or other text without having to open a separate editor.

SecureCRT for Mac provides advanced remote access software from a company with over 15 years of experience in terminal emulation and security. Now network professionals can run SecureCRT from their favorite Mac systems, or switch back and forth between Mac and Windows with minimal retraining and disruption.

SecureCRT is an extremely customizable terminal emulator with support for Secure Shell (SSH1 and SSH2) as well as Telnet, Telnet/TLS, Rlogin, serial, and TAPI protocols. SecureCRT is ideal for connecting to remote systems running Windows, UNIX, and VMS.

SecureFX is a high-security file transfer client with great flexibility in configuration and transfer protocols. SecureFX includes a command-line utility for scripting batch jobs to perform secure unattended file transfers and also supports "relentless" file transfers that automatically reconnect and resume when connections are broken.

On Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 or later, you can open a local shell session within SecureCRT. A tabbed CMD or PowerShell session makes it easy to work on the local system without having to leave SecureCRT. Local shell was already supported on macOS and Linux.

Pre-defined color schemes, including Solarized, make it easy to change the look of your terminal workspace. Choose from a variety of light and dark color combinations with coordinated background, foreground, and ANSI colors.

The problem is I can't get this same thing to work using either PuTTY or SecureCRT -- and to be honest I've not found any tutorials that really walk me through it. I see many on setting up some kind of proxy tunnel for Firefox, but it doesn't seem to be the same concept. I've been messing with various trial and error most all day and nothing has worked (obviously) and I'm at the end of my ssh knowledge and Google searching.

2.) Test that you can connect to the jump-off server as desired. You have indicated that only access with an SSH key is possible: You might want to import that key using ssh-agent functionality (use the "Tools" menu > "Manage Agent Keys..." > "Add...") if you want to enter your passphrase just once.

3.) Set up a new connection for your dev box. As with step 1.), use the correct IP address - 1.2.3.4, as given in your example - and name it "Development box". Save this session in your Sessions folder. Test this connection: It should fail at this point, because you're connecting directly. Close the window.

This now associates your jump-off box with your development box, so it is used as an intermediary when trying to establish a connection to your development box. It even works if you have a different SSH port in use on your jump-off box (e.g. 65000) versus your development box (e.g. 22), because SecureCRT will simply use the configuration you have set up for each host.

Hi!
There is a way to use 1Password SSH Key with Vandyke SecureCRT and SecureFX on Windows and Mac OS? It will be usefull to have it as I use an external usb-key with a certificate, but it's only for work servers.

Great question! As it currently stands, the 1Password SSH agent is only compatible with SSH clients that use the default Windows OpenSSH agent. From a quick look, it seems like SecureCRT uses it's own built in agent, rather than using a system agent. Is that correct?

Sorry I don't know but I know that I can use CAPI or PKCS #11 provider DLL as you can see in following picture, I've a certificate on a card and I use it to login on my company's servers by SSH with SecureCRT

The MIT download of SecureCRT has been pre-configured with a session profile for you to connect to your Athena home directory. If you installed SecureCRT you do not need to configure SecureCRT to log on to athena.dialup.mit.edu. Other users on the machine and Windows Domain users need to run the "Create Shortcut to Athena" tool in Start > Programs > Tools> MIT SecureCRT > Create Shortcut to Athena. Click Create Shortcut to complete the configuration.

SecureCRT uses very strong encryption with a broad range of authentication options that can be used to protect passwords, user accounts, data, and computer systems. SecureCRT also provides secure remote access, file transfers, and data tunneling within an organisation or company. SecureCRT also offers session management and customization features, for those that need to work in multiple sessions.

SecureCRT is a terminal emulation application that uses a tabbed interface. Multiple sessions are presented as a single window with multiple tabs. The window title is session name" - SecureCRT" so it changes with each tab. Perfect.

The problem comes when it prompts for a password with a dialog box. At that point the window title detected by Keepass is that of the dialog box, "Keyboard Interactive Authentication". This makes selecting an autotype entry problematic. In these cases is there any way to detect the dialog box parent window title?

I have gotten around the issue by checking the SecureCRT options to "Display logon promtps in the terminal window" which eliminates the password dialog box. But I have run into this limitation with other applications and just wondered if there is a workaround or plugin that addresses it.

KeePass cannot determine the parent window title, so you are stuck with a work around.
You could add a target window on the Auto-Type tab, with "keyboard interactive Authentication" as the title. Then KeePass will pop up all entries for you to choose.

Disclaimer...so many changes from one version of Windows Control Panel to the next, you mileage may vary. Believe you can step around the Control Panel settings if you're only using Firefox. That would be a change within Firefox only.

Ok I got the script to work so that when I push my SSH button in top in SW it now opens a new windows of my securecrt and not just a a new tab in my running securecrt, is there anyway that I can get this fixed or??

Important note: BEN Application users should refer to the BEN Desktop Standards document for information about text-based network access clients that have been approved for use with BEN.

SecureCRT is a commercial SSH and Telnet client and terminal emulator by VanDyke Software. Originally a Windows product, VanDyke later added a Mac OS X version in 2010 with release v6.6[3][4] and a Linux version in 2011 with release v6.7.[5]
