Gene:
You might have noticed the recent news that president Hernandez of Honduras has been arrested and is possibly going to be extradited to the US on drug trafficking charges. His brother has already been convicted (I think).
This is not news to anyone who has followed what's going on in Honduras since the United States supported a coup d'état against Zelaya in 2009. So maybe Russia has Putin, we don't need people like Putin. This is just US policy. Which goes back many decades if not centuries.
The above link includes the following fairly early in the presentation:
"On June 28, 2009, Manuel Zelaya was overthrown by a U.S.-backed coup d'etat when he was trying to introduce land redistribution reforms and a referendum to call for a constituent assembly to change the country’s constitution. Since then, Honduras has been on a social, political and economic downward spiral. The above link includes the following "fairly early in the presentation."
Also the above article is over two years old and was written at the time that our wonderful Nancy Pelosi was going down to Cowtow with Hernandez.
Who needs dictators like Putin when you can have "democratic" policies supporting this kind of corruption over many decades.
