Sorry I fell off this thread.

The problem ended up being a TL server-side config issue.

File /opt/thinlinc/etc/conf.d/vsmagent.hconf uses hard coded IP numbers as values of master_hostname and agent_hostname.

I modified that file to contain my new IP (in two places), restarted TL server, everything worked fine:

[2022-01-02 15:04:30 root@oceanpark:/opt/thinlinc]# grep 54.176.136.29 /opt/thinlinc/etc/conf.d/vsmagent.hconf
master_hostname=54.176.136.29
agent_hostname=54.176.136.29
