Dear Sir:

I just saw you interviewed on the BBC espousing increasing armament of the Ukrainians as a solution to the conflict there.

You make the ludicrous statement that cutting off natural gas imports from Russia is something that the European nations "are not interested in pursuing right now".  Hello?  By "right now" do you mean "ever"?  Because they will never cut off the natural gas imports any more than the US. will cease importing oil from the murderer MBS.

You also stated that "the sanctions play a critical role in degrading the Russian war machine". Tell that to the Donbas. Critical role. You've got to be kidding me. They play a critical role in degrading European and US economies.

You state that "another thing we have to do is make sure that we arm the Ukrainians so that they have the weapons they need to fight off Russian aggression and end this war". Are we in kindergarten?   Is this an example of original thought? The US has pumped more than the entire military budget of France into arming Ukraine. I guess we've made sure we're arming the Ukrainians. Is it working?

You make absolutely no mention of the idea of promoting negotiations, ceding the Donbas to Russia,  committing to the Ukraine not becoming part of NATO, and trying to stop this conflict before the Ukrainian army is decimated. There is no guarantee the Russians will be willing to go to the negotiation table at this point but it is for crying out loud at least worth mentioning in your so-called analysis.

Sometimes I wonder if the US and British war machines want this conflict to continue.

Sincerely,
Dennis Allard

I apologize for going over the top in my letter to Professor Kustra yesterday.

I do not support the Russian invasion or Putin.

My frustration Is the complete lack of reporting about the possibility of negotiations and the seeming lack of desire on the part of the west to actively promote negotiations.

What is happening inside of us are inside.

Hey Bro,

I just have to chime in here. You make several good points in your reply to Professor Kustra. In my view however let me just say yes, our supply of arms has meant a great deal in fending off a full scale invasion of Ukraine. And if our support continues, we will run the Russian Nazis out of Ukraine with extreme prejudice. When the US announces these aid packages all we see is the top sheet. A handful of advanced weapons and some humanitarian aid. It would be safe to think that these deals are much more complicated and it is the things that are under the hood that you won’t hear about for years. UA Special Forces and others have been training Ukraine and Ukrainian civilian forces for years. Setting up the theater of unconventional warfare does not happen over night. It is not by chance that from the first day of this war the Russian Military has had its ass handed to it. I believe that if ever there was a time for coordinated military assistance and covert action, it is now. What Putin is perpetrating on the civilian population of Ukraine is nothing short of fascist terrorism. They can not be negotiated with because they are complete liars who can not be trusted. And as long as Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the support of his brave nation who refuse to give up one inch of their sovereign nation, there is nothing to talk about.
