Update #150: Consecrate

Mega Pentecost. Power. Might. Miracles. Church arising. Billion soul harvest. Time of reaping. Holy Spirit outpouring. Greatest wave of Awakening ever seen...
Ok God. I want in. How do I assure I am part of what you are doing, that I don’t miss it like the Pharisees missed you?
He gave me one word: Consecrate.
I looked it up. Dictionary.com - verb
- to make or declare sacred
- set apart or dedicate to the service of a deity
- to devote or dedicate to some purpose

“In the Bible the word consecration means ‘the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.’ Consecration also carries the connotation of sanctification, holiness, or purity.”
The article goes on listing several incidents where a body of believers was called to consecrate themselves. The verse that struck me most was Joshua 3:5, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”
God asked the Israelites to consecrate themselves and promised He would show up - and show up He did...the waters of the Jordan stopped flowing 16 miles upriver and the Israelites crossed over to Jericho (Joshua 3:16). Then, right after Passover, they marched around Jericho and it fell (Joshua 6:20). But, God’s favor lifted at Ai due to unfaithfulness (Joshua 7:1, 11, 12).
Joshua, once again, tells the Israelites to consecrate themselves “...You cannot stand [victorious] before your enemies until you remove the things under the ban from among you” (7:13 AMP). They did, and then God did, His thing.
Consecrate. Dedicate. Sanctify. Devote. Set Apart.
The article ends this way: “as true believers in Christ, the act of consecration involves our lives being a living sacrifice to Him; we are totally separated from the defilement of the world. Each day, we are to live out our lives as a ‘holy’ and ‘royal’ priesthood to the glory of God, for we are now God’s people (1 Peter 2:9-10).”
What does it look like for you to be consecrated? Dedicated? Sanctified? Set Apart? For me it means early morning devotions, prayer time, worship... and less political Twitter scrolling.
Consecrate yourselves and you will see the Lord do amazing things among you. I want to see amazing things. I want to be a part of amazing things. I DO NOT want to be left out and blind like the Pharisees. What do you want?
