Camp Strake Service Day sponsored by the OA

October 4

 

The Colonneh youth leadership has worked with camp management at Strake to have a service day at Strake on Saturday, Oct 4; 9am - 5pm.  All Troops are invited to help.  Lunch will be served free of charge by the Lodge. If you can put together work teams from your Troop please contact JD Edwards.

Bring: Work Gloves, Water Bottle, Wear Long Pants (high grass and a lot of debris on the ground), Safety Glasses and Hard Hat (if possible), a Long Sleeve Shirt and Boots are recommended, Bug Spray is a MUST, Sun Screen, any tools EXCEPT POWER TOOLS, and a Class 1 Health Form.

Rally Night Changes

Over half of the School Night for Scouting Rallies were cancelled due to Ike.  When you reschedule your Rally’s, please contact shane...@shac.org with the details so that he can have flyers printed for your school.  More information coming soon.

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training
October 11
Clear Lake Presbyterian

Due to the storm, we had to cancel our September 20 indoor/classroom portion of  the Scoutmaster training.  In order to accommodate it and the outdoor portion (IOLS) in
a new schedule we elected to alter the dates as such:  Indoor training will now  be held on October 11 at 8:30am at Clear Lake Presbyterian.

Boy Scout Into to Outdoor Leader Training
November 21-22
Challenger Park (tentative location) 

Outdoor training (IOLS) will be held concurrent with Webelos Woods on November 21-23 at Challenger 7 Park (more information to follow).  The outdoor training is dependent upon the availability of Challenger 7 Park in light of the recent events. 

These revised plans for training were discussed last Wednesday at the District Committee meeting so they are very fresh and subject to change. 

Pushmobile

October 15

Get out the power tools out and start building your Pushmobile for the Cub Scouts favorite event of the year.  Cub Scouts work as a team to race to the finish line.  Check-in begins at 8:00 at San Jacinto College.  Registration form.
