Demoshield 8 Won't Save Changes - Help required please

Here is the situation:

I have a quick button action that I copy and paste from one event to
another.
Save the changes exit the program and restart the program with this
project.
The changes are not present.

The paste did not save!

Other major peeve:
The demoshield is loading up from my original project location even
though I was trying to load from the back directory.

Why does it insist on saving it to the original location when I am
loading up the backup project and trying to save this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
