Most of the samples in Demoshield 6.5 ask for a password on trying to
open them. What is the password?

Hi Tracy,

Some of the sample demos that come with DemoShield are password-protected
and you will not be able to open them in the Designer although you can run
them through the Player. Most of these password-protected demos are from
customers and are provided to give you an idea of the type of demos that you
can create with DemoShield.

Well, it's probably none of my business, but I reckon that's pretty sh**tty!

I mean, if you provide demos with the product, the natural inclination of
the user is to find out how it is done! Isn't that how we learn????

Just out of interest, do you guys get a kick out of putting a bowl of food
in front of a dog and then taking it away when he gets interested????

Come on, get real! If the people who provided these demos don't want people
to know how they have been done, then don't use them! You guys must have the
knowledge to reproduce similar demos without locking them up (?).

Sorry for the tone - I a bit sour today, as I had to finish a demo on a
deadline and couldn't figure out how to do a couple of things that should
have been obvious - sometimes the logic of the (usually quite good) software
baffles me!

Well, I can certainly understand why the password is a viable solution. On
some of the demos that I have done and distributed I wouldn't want people
peeping on the code (although it shouldn't be that hard to figure out!) -
but for my clients, they are the ones that get a little ansy. Or if you use
a music source that you own a license to, you don't want other people
ripping that stuff off - or what about an image? The password thing is a
good idea - easy to break - but a good idea. Perhaps when people submit
their demo, they should be required to sign or opt NOT to sign a password
removal disclaimer.
