There are no language packs for DemoShield. However, DemoShield features a
utility that allows you to localize your demos into numerous languages for
International distribution. This utility is called the DemoText Editor and
can be accessed through the Tools menu of the DemoShield Menu bar. The
DemoText Editor exports all the text contained in a .dbd file into a .dat
file. This .dat file can be given to a translator to localize, and is much
more convenient to distribute than the entire DemoShield Designer.
A .dat file contains all the native text displayed in the .dbd file. Text
editable through the DemoText Editor is contained in Bitmap Button, Button,
Edit Field, List Box, Menu, Text, QuickReport, and VCR Objects.
In an actual .dbd file, all the text displayed in the demo can be exported
into a .dat (or data) file. This .dat file contains all of the text
displayed in the demo. The .dat file can be edited outside of the DemoShield
Designer, making it possible to convert demo text into other languages
without modifying the structure of the original demo.
In order for a demo to utilize a particular .dat file, it simply needs to be
included in the distribution media with the .dbd file. The DemoShield Player
will determine from the operating system of the viewer's machine which .dat
file to employ in the demo. In this way, you can create a demo that can be
used internationally by providing a .dat file for all if the languages you
may need.
If you export the text of a demo and then create a distribution using the
Distribution Wizard, the .dat file is placed in the same folder with all the
other files necessary for distribution. If you create a distribution using
the Setup Wizard, the .dat file will be included in the files necessary for
installation.
Hope this helps,
Noy
