SMTP module(domain iwc.com) reports:
midgard.ch.richemont.com:451 Temporary recipient validation error.

I couldn't find a reasonable explanation when googling this sentence

I get the meaning itself of the message, but what happens really behind the scenes?

- what is (not) being validated ?

- What makes the missed validation only temporary, why not fatal ?

Answer would help to understand, how high  the probability is that the "WARNING. Mail Delayed" message does turn into a non deliverable, or not.

Thanks for advise

Maybe a database temporarily unavailable. Or another attempt at greylisting.

There is no way to know, from that information alone, how high is the probability for a nondeliverable.

Hello,

Have you checked the issued account (mail box) for over quota (it could result in “WARNING. Mail Delayed" message also)?

Depending of protocol type the client uses, there is method to notify  the user that his/her box is over quota by disconnecting the session and/or with validating issues.

My account has a limit of 10 GB.

3.1. GB are actually used (overall, incl. trash)

There are now non-delivery messages issued, saying that my account is over quota

How comes?

Thanks for advise

what mailbox format do you use? If it is mbox there is a 2 GB limit for
each folder so you won't be able to receive new emails if you INBOX has
reached a size of 2 GB.

Kind regards,

Correction

I made a mistake, the message is "full" , not over quota. (Otherwise that would not cause a non-delivery)

But that doesn't generate a quota message

I agree with Oliver. It appears as though you are using MBox and your
INBOX folder is now 2GB or more. If not your INBOX, check your Sent Items.
