Jaakko Lehtinen was just nominated as the professor of computer graphics at Aalto University School of Science. Interestingly, he mentions demoscene as the foundation of the Finnish games industry and CGI research:

Cool! You may have also heard that Carsten Dachsbacher, aka Frenetic
of Cubic Team, was appointed full professor of computer graphics at
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) some time ago.
