Powerbook 1400 won't start up

Have tried the reset button, but no luck. There is power getting to the Mac
as when the reset button is pressed the screen flashes momentarily.

It's running OS8. Any help / suggestions appreciated!

Try asking in uk.comp.sys.mac which is a much busier group with plenty of
people who can help you.

Remove the battery, leave the machine plugged in to the mains. Does the
same thing happen?

Replace the battery. Unplug the machine. What happens?

Reset the Power Manager: turn the computer off, then restart by holding
down the reset key (at the rear) for 10-20 seconds. If this doesn't
restart the machine, try again two or three times.

Any luck?
