Hi Simon,

I have used MT Newswatcher which was a good freeware programme for general
newsreading and the ability to multi thread, ie have a number of different
windows active from different newsgroups was an advantage. However as a
poster of binary items it was hopeless and you have to use a programme such
PosterChild to perform Binary Postings.

I found YA Newswatcher the opposite when I last used it, i.e good at posting,
crap at multi threading.

I would though strongly reccomend Asar's Hogwasher, which although a
commercial piece of software is without doubt excellent. You can also use it
for email. Postings are easy to do, you can have multiple characters, and it
also allows you to read newsgroups whilst off line.

There are some issues with this programme if you do intend to use it to post
anything that is not quite white as white! in that the headings do carry a
lot of information, however, I have never had a problem with this and only a
few people have expressed concern. (Check this posting to see).

You can try a 60 day trial period of Hogwasher by downloading the software at
http://www.asar.com/

Hope this helps.
