Hi all,
Sorry to bother you with this but maybe somenody has experienced
it. I've got problems with my monitor or atleast it's display. It'll be
fine for a bit but then every few seconds I'll get a horizontal line, (or
lines) flicker across the display, in different places on the monitor.
This is accompanied by the general brightness going up and down for
several seconds.

My Microvitec (1438 I think) is years old and while it's been fine, could
probably do with replacement soon anyway, but might it be a chip going
down in my 1200?

Any ideas?

All the best,
Angus Manwaring. (for e-mail remove ANTISPEM)

I've had this trouble with several old amiga monitors. Had to do with cracked
cold solder joints and/or a bad flyback transformer. Only a matter of time
until it completely fries itself. You might also start to hear snaps and
crackles coming from your monitor with the display anomilies. Repairs in my
experience are far more costly than a new monitor, unless you can do them
yourself with scavanged parts.
