Hey all,

Having a little rodent problem and before I go the whole hog and buy
lots of stuff, I thought I'd ask for opinions.....

Basically, over the last few months, I've been having lots of problems
with different buttons only working intermittantly.....

However, for the past couple of days, I've completely lost the left
button.....

It's not the mouse, as I've got a spare to try.....

I'm using a button swapping utility atm so I've got the left button
functionality on the right hand side.....

I'm thinking this has move to do with the controller chips as I've
tried the mouse in both sockets....

Also, when I bought a Punichello earlier this year, I had to send it
back as it was permanently getting a "down Scroll" from the wheel from
either mouse port.....

So, what are my options...... I have a towered A1200... are the
mouse control chips replaceable (are they 8520's ???) or should I do
the decent thing and buy a new motherboard to fit into the tower
alongside my other stuff ?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Likely, though wouldn't you be needing to run some additional
software to get the mouse working in the other socket ?

Anyway see comp.sys.amiga.hardware via Deja, and you'll get
the details.

I've had a bash with SetMPort and ButExchange....

Had a browse and although none were exactly the same, the solutions
got me thinking in terms of playing with the cable in the mouse itself
and by moving it around a bit, I've got it going again, although I
don't think much of it's chances for long term use....

Gonna have to track down a new one, me thinks....

Thanks again for your help Tez....
