Some time ago when I was asking if there was anyone on this forum that
was near SE London, there was a post by Wm saying he was just a couple
of miles from where I am. I tried to reply but here wasn't an email
address in his message.

Wm has been a regular contributor to this forum sometimes though I
haven't seen anything recently. If anyone knows how I can contact him
direct and they could let me know I'd be grateful. Thanks.

The reply-to field in the messages he posted here today looks like the
same email address as he's been using for years.

The dreaded attack on the Reply-To field's never happened for me.

I've received and replied to Eileen's e-mail so don't know if it was
sod's law or serendipity that she was thinking of me on the day I posted
here.

There doesn't need to be, so long as he uses a valid Reply-To address
when posting. All you need to do is, when reading one of his posts,
click on the Reply icon in Turnpike (NOT the Followup icon).

When I posted my message in this group I forgot I was in demon.service
which I never visit except recently when I discovered there was some
discussion about the migration. I can't recall seeing a full email
address for Wm. in D.I.S.T which is the group I visit more regularly
though irregularly.

Anyway I could hardly believe my eyes when I discovered, minutes after
posting my message, that Wm. had been taking part with an email address
in another thread!

Well that was a stroke of good fortune for me so definitely serendipity
for me, but maybe sod's law for you Wm., depending on how you feel at me
having made direct contact. But I hope it isn't too much of a sod's law
feeling. And thank you for responding to me so quickly. That is a huge
relief.
