Is there an RFC somewhere that says a URL should begin at the start of a
line?

If not would it be possible to have the following corrected for some
future version of turnpike? A wish I suppose...

Link started at the beginning of a line
<http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&num=50&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&btnG=Googl
e+Search&as_epq=multi+line+url&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=lang_en&as_ft=i&as_filety
pe=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images>

Same link placed after some text
<http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&num=50&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&btnG=Googl
e+Search&as_epq=multi+line+url&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=lang_en&as_ft=i&as_filety
pe=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images>

Other than being a little untidy, not a lot I suppose. How does one
reproduce it though?

Right-click in the text, and choose "Use preformatted margin". This
puts the whole thing on one line, and is the most likely to be
understood by the most software.

It will actually wrap at 144 characters, but it has the desired effect.

Paste Special -> Paste Preformatted Text
is marginally quicker, given that the URL is almost always going to need
to be pasted in.

Which can always be increased - but that's a humungous URL...

I usually only realise it's irrevocably, stupidly big after pasting, as
often Google ones can be hand-foreshortened considerably.
