post the exact new settings for Zen in Connect and e-mail,eg host config
etc so that when I do move I have the exact config.

Hopefully someone with Zen and Turnpike will be along to help. If not,
as a starting point, this works for me on Thunderbird.

POP3(these settings work whether or not connected via ZEN):

Server name: mailhost.zen.co.uk
Port 995
User name: whatever they give you, its usually zennnnnnn (zen followed
by 6 numbers)
Connection security:SSL/TLS
Authentication method: Normal Password

SMTP (these settings work whether or not connected via ZEN):

Server name: mailhost.zen.co.uk (same as for POP3)
Port 587
User name zen...@zen.co.uk (same as for POP3)
Connection security STARTTLS
Authentication method: Normal Password

Connect doesn't support SSL/TLS secure connections, so either Zen will
also offer a non-secure option or you are into Stunnel.

Or use Avast! as your AV - which will then do the SSL/TLS stuff for you.
You'd also have to change the Windows default port for SMTP:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\services

Thanks everyone so far but details from a Zen user on TP would be great

A quick look on Zens website and they don't offer an unecrypted access.

There have. been several articles in the past on how to set up Stunnel.
Alternatively as has been suggested Avast handles it for you.
Maybe someone who has used Stunnel will be along shortly to help with
settings. I'm with the oft-maligned BTYahoo which continues to offer
unencrypted access.

I think I have saved threads on the subject which I will dig out for you
if you have no joy.

Jim, I'm accessing Zen via TP6. Cannot remember how any settings or
layout may have changed since TP5, but mine look like this :

From Connect

Configure, Host : domain.myzen.co.uk

Configure, Email transfer : mail gateway = mailhost.zen.co.uk
Browse and Deliver are both ticked, for send and receive. Also enable
for other ISPs is also ticked as are, at the bottom, the three boxes
saying POP3 IMAP and Debug information

Configure POP3 Mail Connection :

Server Name : mailhost.zen.co.uk

Port : POP3

Mailbox : your...@domain.myzen.co.uk

Password : xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Mine is set to Mirror

use APOP authentication is ticked

I collect News via Eternal September, so those settings did not change
when I moved from Demon.

The best backup, I found, was the ability to post here via Google Groups
even if TP refused to behave for reasons unknown. GG is clunky, but it
works, and gives great peace of mind.

Good luck!

I realise now you get 2 sorts of Zen email.

You get a default single email address which is your hostname
@zen.co.uk, example zen1...@zen.co.uk, which is what I am using because
I use my personal domain for most of my mail, and a user chosen domain
@domainofchoice.myzen.co.uk that you can set up, which is what this
approach uses. Note that one is at zen.co.uk, the personalised one is
at myzen.co.uk.

So, when you get Zen, set up your personalised domain email using their
user portal (you get to choose the domain name as long as its not
already in use) then you can try the turnpike settings above.

They might work with the default @zen address as well.
