Can someone please advise me what, if anything, needs to be done on
NewsHound since, as usual, the list of platforms for which specific help
files are available excludes RISC OS.

As an interim I have reconfigured to fetch from <oldnews> to ensure I do not
loose the replies to this posting!

Sorry if this is a bit of a vague answer but I don't use NewsHound and
I didn't want you hanging in limbo (not sure how many other people
monitor this newsgroup these days).

The "do nothing" option should, in principle, work. That is, just
change the servername back from "oldnews" to "news".

If you can work out how to do it, you might want to wind back the
"date/time of last news fetch" by a few hours (or one day to be
absolutely sure) but to be honest I doubt you'll miss many articles.

If you do run into serious problems, I suggest you ask again on
comp.sys.acorn.apps or comp.sys.acorn.misc - they're much more likely
to have someone who knows what he's talking about :-)

A wise move on your part. The new news server cluster is, er, slightly
lacking in performance this evening.

I'm sure there's still a few of us. :)

Absolutely. (I would've replied in precisely the same vein, but Stuart
beat me to it.)

In the old version of Newshound I have, at least, I think this is just as
simple a matter as changing a few digits in the relevant news server
groupfile, but, as Stuart says, it's probably not necessary unless getting
every single news article is absolutely mission critical.

I hope this works out for you.
