"Yes" and "not that I know of", respectively.

Here being demon.ip.support.archimedes, I take it. Coincidentally, I
have been investigating the viability of this and other Demon groups
recently, in connection with the "Which Newsgroup FAQ". The group
appears to be all but moribund, with only a couple of posts this
calendar year (all but one of those within the last week or so - my
enquiry within the group and the response to it). I don't know why you
shouldn't have received those, though.

Ah, I see. Sorry. My understanding is that the term "newnews" is
something related to getting the messages themselves rather than the
list of newsgroups. As far as the list of new newsgroups is concerned, I
can only say that I don't know.

That's not "NEW NEWS" which is the normal way of getting new posts in
each sepcifid newsgroup which you are subscribed to.

You mean "NEWGROUPS". The ANT Suite logs here show it being issued and
a null response coming back. I'm not sure when I last saw a new group
being named because I add the new list to the present list quite often.
New stuff is stored in !InetSuite.Internet.Spool.News./new I've
certainly seen new groups since the last time I added the new ones to
the present list, which I did on 27 August 2006.

AFAICS, that's the same format it's always been.
