Just wondered if anyone does this and if so whether they have any
problems.

The sort of list I need is one where emails sent to
li...@arcola.demon.co.uk will be bounced back to the list membership.
Looking through the set-up options, it seems that the filters are not
as comprehensive as they might be; eg I would like to filter out
anything that's not from a recognised list member, but the maximum
length of string allowed in the filter text box is much too short to
allow this.

Are there better alternatives to Marcel that can be used with the Ant suite?

Yes, Messenger Pro - it's a smashing bit of software. Don't know
if it can do mailing lists, looking at the extensive filtering I
suspect it can.

HTH,

Roger.

BTW, you'd probably get more response from comp.sys.acorn.apps
or networking.
