I don't use my Homepage very much any more. The change to the DOCROOT
system caused me no end of problems.
I had about 25Mb of data, and had to delete a load, down to 19Mb, before I
could do an upload. I even started to look for a new ISP.

Yesterday I gave it another go. I just altered one date on my site, and all
went well!!

Now, when I use the Quote display, it shows I am only using 6Mb. I now have
loads of free space.

Has something changed in the past year. Is the data being better compacted?

They have played around with the block size, the amount of disc space
used by each individual block of data, which governs the minimum filesize
and the minimum used for overspill data which does not fit into the previous
block. Larger blocks make more efficient use of disc space as long as the
average file size is large.
