I have a site that I maintain on homepages, but I haven't actually
touched it for a while, however my customer (actually a relative) has
recently asked me to make some changes.
Of vcourse, I'd lost her password in the mists of time, so had to ask
her what it was.
First thing I noticed having translated the email I got into a
bruteforce and found the right password (the email said "I can't
remember which letters are upper case, but some are") is that the
directory structure seems to have changed somewhat since the good (bad?)
old days.
I have:
/docroot (seems to contain the original website)
/docroot.old (seems to contain a default website)
/errpages
/logs
/secure
/stats
/stats_secure
no cgi directory?
I assume that I upload the website into /docroot
Can I set up custom error pages in errpages?
Denis
You can safely delete all that's in here. It serves no useful purpose,
and counts towards your size allocation.

As I recall, no - the only cgi that you can use are the 3 or 4
Demon-provided ones. However I can't get into my homepages to verify my
recollection :(

I believe that you can. 'How' is another matter :)

Ah, my recollection of the old homepages is that there was a symbolic
link /cgi or /cgi-bin directory that was read only and pointed to the
scripts, something like that anyway, might have been a cgi dir with
symbolic links to the scripts inside it.

I'd guess by editing the files in there, or replacing them, they seem to
be named <errnum>.htm
Denis
I'm currently using code like
{FORM ACTION="/cgi-bin/mailform" METHOD="GET"}
{INPUT TYPE="Hidden" NAME="formtype" VALUE="DUMMY2"}
{/FORM}
(I've replaced pointy brackets with curlies)
which works OK; I don't have my own cgi-bin.

Yes - try <URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/no.htm>. Note that the
ones supplied are (or were) bloated; and they presumably count in your
GB/month.
See <http://www.demon.net/helpdesk/products/homepages/> and its "2007"
link, much of the contents of which is right, once stripped of PR-speak.
I uploaded a new 404.html yesterday, in the obvious manner.
