Um, I think not. Not if you're planning to keep your Internet
conenction, that is.

You are certainly leaving the Charter behind. From the Charter for
uk.adverts.computer:
"Binaries are not allowed although URLs pointing to binaries are
encouraged. "
"Commercial posts are allowed but must be short (less than 25 lines of
text including signature). It is recommended that they contain URLs
pointing to a web site or similar for full details. Commercial
advertisers must make the commercial nature of the advertisement
explicitly clear, and the posting should indicate the nature of the
business concerned. All commerical advertisements must be identified
by placing the word COMMERCIAL at the beginning of the subject line.
Similar commercial posts should not be repeated more than once per
week."

I've got a better idea. Let ab...@demon.net know. Give the full text
of the original posting (just the 0'th entry! Demon don't need several
hundred copies of a .25Mb binary!), including all headers (the
Message-ID is critical).

Nope, you're roughly no. 50 (at a guess).

Personally, I wouldn't buy second-user kit so old that the keyboard
can't manage lower-case. What did you type this on, an ASR-33?

Sorry for going grossly off topic .. can't let this slur go uncorrected.
Unix may have proliferated, 'cause it's been non-proprietory, and its relatively
Internet-compatible, but it truly is as user-friendly as the proverbial
cornered rat.
And what was WWW etc originally written with/for (as far as I am aware!)

Leaving your customers behind, more like it.

I refuse to buy anything from people with this attitude, or at least who
publicly state it as such.
: IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM LET ME KNOW
You have the problem, not the rest of the Internet community.

no, you're making complete and utter fools of yourselves.
Usenet is a text based medium. It is for posting text, 80 columns wide, in
US-ASCII where possible.
It is not for pretty fonts, pretty pictures, or files that can only be read
by overpriced bloated commercial packages that only "run" (i use that term
loosley) on a subset of machines.
Many net users are at academic institutions using multiuser machines running
UNIX if they're lucky, or VMS if they're not. Even for those poor people who
do have to tolerate windows internet software it is a hell of a lot more
hassle to have to import stuff to Word than to read it in place.
Posting huge binary or proprietry format files in this newsgroup is a form
of abuse - read the relavent guidelines and AUPs.
If you want prettty pictures, thats what HTML is for. If you want to
distribute proprietry format files, try FTP (or HTTP if you really must).
Also bear in mind that you can read 80 column text on practically any
computer, including dumb terminals connected to servers. Only people
stupid/desperate/overruled enough to have MS Word (or compatible) can read
your word files.... are you being paid commission by MS?
(incidentally, I'm doing this on an 80x25 monochrome screen using a grphics
card that doesn't even have a bold typeface)
I think you'll find that many readers of this newsgroup use some flavour of
UNIX. Try looking up a newsreader called "Tin"...

well, go ahead and we might just complain to your access provider.

consider this letting you know.

well, you;re arrogant, i'll give you that.

see, it all fits in two lines. pity about your stuck shift key.. you ought
to get that fixed.
next time try posting a www url or something sensible like that.
even if you do believe that the people you are targetting can read the
format of file you are posting and can be bothered to, you obviously do not
understand the NNTP protocol, NetNews transport, and therefore the
limitations of USENET... and just why many newsservers are failing to
cope!!!

No binaries in the newsgroup please.

Tough? Let me know? Slight inconsistency here!

Number one WHAT? Prat, idiot, ....
You're not much of a businessman are you? Thanks to your incompetence
you've probably *guaranteed* that hardly anyone on this newsgroup will
buy from you.

Hi Newsies,
I've deciced not to deal with Julian following this recent posting of
his. I was about to purchase an item from him but not any more. That's
my choice, and that's how I'm voting.
