I hope you can join us at our general meeting this Sunday, July 19th,
at Marie Callenders in Irvine. We'll start checking people in at 4:15,
so everyone can get their drinks and order their supper. We'll start
the program at about 4:45-5:00 pm, and then have supper served at
5:45-6:00 pm.
First up will be an interview by Bill Moyers of Wendell Potter. Mr.
Potter was a vice president of Cigna for many years, and he resigned
in protest about the patterns and practices of the insurance industry
in their denial of care. We plan to also show a couple of our video
project stories. Then we'll give a brief overview of the plans before
Congress. Right now, there appear to be four different plans that are
being discussed. Although Single Payer is not among them, there is at
least a chance of some kind of public option, and it's up to us to
push Congress toward the best possible plan.
To get all the details of the meeting, please go to our website at
http://www.70thaddac.org/ To pay in advance for supper, or for
beverage and admission, please go to

Supper with four menu choices, corn bread, pie, tax and tip is $18.00.
Admission, beverage, tax and tip is $5.00, and you can add pie for
$9.00. If you want to pay at the door, you must bring cash or a check.
Of course we'll have our regular Kaffee-Klatch on Saturday at 9 am in
University Center as well. We'll be talking about signing up to help
homeless people in Santa Ana get their birth certificates so they can
get health care. Please join us then.
