This is a big weekend, followed by the UCI Healthcare Forum on Monday
and the election on Tuesday.
1. Saturday, May 16th, our usual patio meeting place at University
Center. We will begin our video project to tell people's healthcare
stories at 9 AM with setup of our banners. Please come to help! At
about 10 am, City Council Member Larry Agran promises to arrive to
help us publicize the project. We need your stories. We need your
friends' stories. And we need your help. We'll be there Saturday from
9 am until 2 pm, so please join us!
2. Sunday, May 17th we hold our monthly club meeting at Marie
Callender's Restaurant, Culver Drive at Irvine Center Drive in the
Culver Plaza. We must begin promptly at 4 pm because our guest
speaker, California State Contoller John Chiang, must be at another
event by 6 pm. This is a wonderful chance to hear about the financial
state of the State of California from one of our most concerned and
knowledgeable elected constitutional officers. To get supper, please
bring a check for $18 made out to 70th AD DAC, or cash (also a blank
check or cash if you just want drinks and/or pie). Non-club members
who are NOT EATING pay $5.00. You can pay in advance (a big help to
us!) at
http://www.actblue.com/page/may2009/
What will our situation be when we wake up on Wednesday, May 20th?
John can probably tell us!
3. Please read Scott's message about the Healthcare Forum on Monday,
6:00-8:00 pm at the Student Center at UCI. Let's support the Young
Dems of UCI!
4. Don't forget to vote in the Special Election on Tuesday, May 19th.
Turnout will be low. Let's make our mark.
