Just a reminder.

This group has a specific purpose, which is to promote broadcasting
and viewing of DemocracyNow! in the Austin area.

I occasionally review messages that address broader political topics.
Even if I agree with opinions therein, I always decline to post these
messages to the group. This helps keep traffic low and suited to the
interest of those who originally signed up for the list. So far I have
not deleted anyone from the group for sending these messages, because
I don't believe the ones I have received are intentional spam. If a
lot of these message continue from a single person, I will probably
eventually ban them from the list.

Your friend in the service of mailboxes that don't overwhelm us,
Nancy

nancy -- i appreciate your working with angie to keep democracy now on the air. and thank you for putting up with all the emails back and forth. i think you are right to try to coordinate this between you and angie only.

as you know, i am now your staff guide since lee webster left channelAustin.

i just wanted to write to let you know your mediaArtist access (membership) is due to expire soon. this could impact the continuation of democracy now --

please let me know if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.

thanks

Nancy,
Did you get this note from Linda Litowsky?
I think my e-mail may quite likely still be in Channel Austin's database as the contact for DemocracyNow!

Thank you again (and again!) for taking on the work to keep DN! on the air in Austin,
Cheers,
Bill

"The Optimism of Uncertainty" by Howard Zinn
"We don't have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world . . . An optimist isn't necessarily a blithe, slightly sappy whistler in the dark of our time. To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places -- and there are so many -- where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction."
