Hi all,

Are we looking for sponsors for the event?
If yes, what kind of investment/sponsors are we talking about?

It would also be a good idea to invite a couple of ppl in the media
business to get some PR coverage on the event. KippReport would be a
good candidate for that.

:)

Hi Stephanie, and welcome

We are not looking for sponsors for the first event. The event is
being organized by (us at) SpinBits and Argaam, we are taking care of
all the expenses, so we are the sponsors I guess; however, the goal of
DemoCamp is to make it a community event, and of course have things
ran by people from the community.

It seems that we will have more more than just the first DemoCamp. So,
we'd love to have sponsors for the next events so that we can have a
bigger audience, the main cost is the venue. We, of course, shouldn't
make DemoCamp too commercial, we want sponsors who are interested in
supporting the community, we are not interested in 'selling' space or
presentations. I'll put some thoughts on how to attract sponsors and
at the same time keep the community feeling.

Sure, we would love to get some PR coverage. FYI, Peter from
KippReport has already confirmed presence :).

Hey Stephanie,

Thanks for all the great support and feedback.

The interest, excitement and support offers are significantly bigger than anyone anticipated, unfortunately the event date can't be changed because some of the key attendees will be flying over from other countries and they already made their plans.

As for the venue, we're trying to get a bigger one, at least to take a couple more dozens if we're lucky, and be able to invite more media people and also be open for sponsorships.

Anyway, the first event could be thought of as a warm-up and will definitely incorporate all of the new ideas for a bigger, better DemoCamp.

Will update the thread with new info later.

Hi all,

I got in touch with a friend of mine who works for Radio 2. I asked her if she can get us in touch with some people and if there's any chance we can get mentioned somehow.
Not sure if they have any tech radio shows in Dubai though, but it's worth a shot.
I'm waiting for her feedback.
Radisson Sas is partnered with Radio 2 by the way.

Regards!

That's really great... thanks for the effort Michael.
Maybe they a reporter could come to the even and interview some people there, that would be awesome!
