Why would it? You can listen to streams with a lot of different media
players, and there are lots of open source variants of the shoutcast
server. Setting one up is trivial. WinAmp is a sad story, but many
stopped using it anyway as soon as AOL bought it.

I have used WinAmp since day one of the TravCast.....this will suck having to find a new media player......

Not a lick. It's not like you suddenly won't be able to use WinAmp
anymore. They're just going to stop further development and shut down
the WinAmp website.

WimAmp will likely still be downloadable from third-party sites.

As for SHOUTcast, which started with WinAmp, it's a core streaming
protocol. It's not going anywhere from this.
