Deluge project
Comment(by Cas):
Deluge data rates are actually in IEC standard Kibibyte (KiB) so the
conversion is multiplying by 8.39 to get kilobits.
Its a good idea but could be quite considerable effort to implement.

Comment(by lazybones):
Aww yes you are correct on both the decimal and the SI... However, in my
head I don't do decimals all that well so 8 is close enough since the UI
doesn't do it for me. :)
I deal with network equipment all day so KiB seems like an odd measurement
to me.. Also when trying to calibrate your max upload and download speed
test results are nearly always in Kbits as well... I know in other Torrent
client forums it confuses the hell out of some users.

I could also really use this feature. Really important for me as everyone
generally measures speed in bits. Most importantly, your isp likely does
and people compare speeds of download/upload vs what their speed limits
are on their internet connection

I am about to leave and cannot look into this further right now, but I do
want to mention that relying on pkg-config itself is not a problem (as you
said, we also use it later), the problem is that on some systems, the .pc
file for pkg-config is supplying wrong information (whereas on yours, it's
botan-config that is wrong), so that's why I'm trying to make it work with
both (while one of them is bad).
