DeLUG: First Events are Around the Corner!

Hello Deep Learning @ UGA (DeLUG) Members,

Our Fall schedule is ready for launch. We have our first ever Social Event TOMORROW at Walker’s Pub at 8pm. Walker’s is located downtown on College St. between Clayton St. and Broad St., near the Arch on North Campus. They have many choices of teas, coffees, sodas, and adult beverages. Given the predicted sunny weather, let’s plan to convene on the back patio of Walker’s. If you need help finding it, shoot me an e-mail. Come out and meet some like-minded friends!  

Our first Meeting is next Monday, Sept 10 in Boyd 208 from 10am to 11am. Our speaker is Raunak Dey, a PhD student here at UGA presenting his exciting work using deep learning techniques for medical image segmentation. He will be presenting his paper on this work at the highly esteemed MICCAI 2018 Conference in Spain later in the month - so come see his results before they’re shared with the world! We have attached the flyer for Monday’s event for more information.

If you have not joined our Slack channel (delug.slack.uga) please send one of the Committee members (emails listed below) a message with your name and e-mail address, and we’ll add you to it. That’s a great place to catch upcoming announcements and join the deep learning conversation.
