Hello all!

I want to thank everyone for a lovely semester, although we are a fledgling organization, I believe we've had a very strong start. I would like to keep this momentum going and ask everyone interested in presenting to reach out so we can get an idea of how many student presenters we'll have and start the process of scheduling and ironing out topics. Also to this end, I'm sharing a doodle poll here for people to select the times that they would prefer to have the meetings next semester. Please select your top 3 preferred meeting times. Although we met monthly this semester, based on the increased interest from students to present, it looks like we might be making the group a weekly thing instead. Please comment on this thread with your preference for weekly or monthly meetings. Once we've figured out times that seem best suited for the majority, we'll go ahead and start scheduling presenters.

One thought could be splitting the difference with bi-weekly, then if/when we get a backlog of potential speakers we can up the frequency to weekly.

That's a good option as well!

Hi all,

Happy 2018! I hope you've all had a good holiday. The Student Committee has been hard at work determining potential speakers for the spring semester, but if you have any suggestions or recommendations, please post them here! We still have plenty of open speaking slots for the spring, so please don't hesitate to offer your thoughts.
