To all Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence enthusiasts:
Just a quick reminder of the Deep Learning @ UGA’s next meeting on Monday November 5, 10:00am - 11:30am in the Coverdell Auditorium (in the Coverdell Center). This special event will be co-hosted by representatives from SAS, an international software analytics and solutions company, and Data Dawgs, a data science-related organization on campus. SAS will be bringing food and presenting, along with our speaker, Fred Hohman, a PhD student from Georgia Tech.
Fred's research (and presentation topic) combines principles from human-computer interaction and techniques from machine learning to improve deep learning interpretability using interactive data visualization. He won the 2018 NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship and Microsoft AI for Earth Award for using AI to improve sustainability. He received his B.S. in mathematics and physics from the University of Georgia, and has conducted research at Microsoft Research, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. We are very excited to host him on Monday!
Coverdell is just around the corner from Boyd on D.W. Brooks Drive, next to the Coliseum, so come get some
breakfast with us and hear some amazing presentations. As always, let us know if you have any questions, and check the
website for more information.
Best,
The Deep Learning @ UGA Student Committee
