to Deep Learning UGA
DeLUG will be hosting our first meeting of the semester TONIGHT from 5pm - 6:30pm in Boyd 208! We will be having Bahaa Al-Ailaa, a UGA PhD candidate, speak about his ongoing research on Neural Ordinary Differential Equations. This will be an extended event but there will be an intermission with pizza!
What happens when you stack infinitely many residual layers in a neural network? Neural ordinary differential equations. Recent developments have enabled the training of Neural ODEs in an end-to-end manner without backpropagation through the numerical solver. This has lead to reduced memory footprint, the explicit control of accuracy-efficiency trade-off, and alleviation of typically high computational costs for normalizing flows.
Feel free to come with questions for our speaker. As always, reach out if you have questions; we hope you can make it!
