AWS Athena Describe Table query throws error

HI 

I am new to Delta Lake and trying to consume data on Delta Lake in S3 from AWS Athena. 

I registered the Delta lake in AWS Glue Catalog and am able to query the data from Athena but when I try to run describe table command, athena throws error.

Doesn't anyone face this issue? Wondering why this is occurring. 

The AWS Athena Documentation clearly specified that basic DDL commands can be run on the Delta Lake in S3.
