Ppl this is the 2nd task for those interested in designing and even
the students who have finished off the coding task 2 can work on
this..

Click on http://groups.google.com/group/delta-nitt/web/design-task-2-compulsory-for-designers-and-optional-for-coders
- or copy & paste it into your browser's address bar if that doesn't
work.

@shiva : I couldn't see your google template, but your olive template was decent and neat. However, when I login as administrator the admin panels and all pretty much screws up, but they're easy to fix. I'd suggest you the following :
Don't give text-align as justify, it makes the labels in the global settings look bad.
Give some kind of border to tables, without border, the various forms in global settings, etc looks empty. There must be some visible partitioning between elements in an admin form table.
You yourself login as administrator and check how the things look. Make sure they don't go out-of-scale, move left/right, etc.. Fix them all and send the template again. Nice work by the way :) Looking forward to see your google template.

Also check out the latest trunk. I've added another variable $FOOTER in template which lets the user modify the footer of the website. That is a required variable in template's index.php.

Those who are making the theme, check out the latest trunk. And test
whether your template is getting installed into the latest version of
pragyan or not. Very recently I have added $FOOTER as a required
variable. So it must be there in your template.

Also don't put your names or other unrelated stuff anywhere in the
template anywhere. To mention your name for credit, you can put it
within comments in the top of template's index.php file. But in any
case, it shouldn't be displayed on the screen. Also don't put any
other addition footer text other than $FOOTER. User should have the
power to change the footer without hacking the sourcecode.

hey.....its just that you have enabled page specific templates and
changed the default template to the one you want....but in the pages
table the value that s filled is the name of the previous
template....so you have to change the template for each page.....

remains in CrystalX template though the settings page show that it has
been changed to a different template

Listen carefully guys :

If you want a template for the entire site, then you have to goto Admin->Global settings and uncheck allow-page-specific-templates and change the template in default template.

However, if you want to change a template for a particular page only, in that case first check allow-page-specific templates in Global settings then goto page settings for that page, then uncheck use-default-template and chose the new template there.

@mon: yeah got it...

@abhi: won't it be better if this option was checked during
iinstallation, so that a newbee doesn't need to spend a lot of time
searching through the options and finally getting the page-specific
template???
