Hey nice template .. the banner and footer and cool..

but the content part needs more CSS .. the articles look just text..
add some css .. it'd be good if u add some boxes and enclose the
articles inside it.. just a thought .. also put some colors for
"heading" and normal text in the content.. just bold doesnt look
good.. and take another font for the content.. the current one looks
too simplisitic..

3. content style - changed and optimised a lil ..

Some more changes I'd suggest :

Header: Remove the onhover green color (and the red line below) , it doesnt look good., Instead of a onhover white tab, keep it a lighter shade of Black itself... so much contrast in colors makes a site look bad ..

Dashboard : Pink color ?? Common, dont use so many colors in a website. Replace pink with some shade of an already existing color.

i feel these changes will improve the template:
instead of putting some pattern on the inactive tabs (in slideshow
picture), make them dull and have drop shadow for the active tab which
can bring a raised effect for the active tab.

and the sharp ends of the slideshow bothers me a little, can you make
the slideshow image merge with the background in some way?

and as abhishek said having many colour in the same page, might not
give good impression on the user. Look at facebook from login, to
every single component is in the shade of the same colour. (Of course
we're not going to make something as good as facebook, but still we
can take inspiration from that site). so restrict to one/two colours
and use different shades of them. i'd suggest blue (because it'll
match our logo also).

Hey, my suggestions for the template......in the header instead of
having such big portions for the links, we could bring them down and
use the style used by windows media player (for the play ,burn and
sync menus in the right)..that would look cool....and the highlighted
tab in the roller goes out of the border i.e. i think it is a little
offset than the others...and for the footer we could have it a bit
smaller.....and also..the header could be pushed a little bit down,
like as we have it in the present delta.nitt.edu...

what i thought for the slideshow was that the inactive tabs when
given a pattern gives a dull/fade-off for the text .... and tats a
tried raised effect only there ... not tat gud at photoshop ...
it bugs me for the sharp edges also .. but luks odd if everything was
curved or fading away .. !
nd i used only 2 colors ... blue,and green .....just to highlight
heading .. .! and these lukd a lil professional also ... plain colors
dint get any attention to heading .. as hosted before...

and y push header down ?????? do u mean leave some margin at top????
nd regd - current tab border getting out - its a tried buldge/raised
effect ... !
i think footer is fine ...the page design is portrait kind - so it ll
add when the content is small .. and ll be seen when content is
lengthy

some final changes :

header : Please remove the white tab from Home, use some other better way of highlighting the selected page .. black on white looks bad .. and when u hover on home and it turns Green on white, thats looks very cheap !! As i said, remove onhover green color and instead, use a smaller onhover tab around the selected option which is of a slightly lighter shade of black.

footer -  for the delta logo in the footer can u use a better quality image ???

do the changes fast and finalize it, we need to get it up very soon now..

luks .. good .. !
some things to be adjusted .. :
make it fluid ... !
make it a 960px wide menu and the background extended to full width . .!
like the one as in the present template . !

and try some other touch of blue at the top .. !
this one luks fine with the same color as the glow to the tab .. !
but something i can see is the logo luks weird here - the colors i mean .. !
