TeamDeltaForce.org !! Its official now

Guys,
Delta will go online soon. We have bought TeamDeltaForce.org ... Plans
are in place for the development and we have plans to add a lot of
things before going public ... We may have a blog open to public.
Still working on details but watch this thread for updates

Earning is not bad. But it is too far fetch for now now.
Better concentrate on our work than the earning part for now. Once we
are stable, we could think about those options.

deltaforce.org was not available ... it was a premium domain which was shown as available but only if u look close u see some 4 digit dollar prices!

No ads. It doesnt give much money unless you have traffic and required a lot of work to maintain and keep income coming. Also requires skill to have ads and keep it professional.

As per the earnings part, we dont need cash for anything for another year. Its not a great host but it was the best i could find for the available cash.

For now the goal is just to make a decent site which will give an image of Delta and help others as well by means of articles posted and probably discussions as well. No worries about how many clicks or what rank we have, just how good we can get :)

If it will be useful i would be willing to make personal email ids for you guys. Why? we hope by passing such an email id we may get some visitors to check the site! It has its pros and cons but if used in a popular forum it may attract interested visitors to the domain and make the site seem more active! If planning to freelance you can give your delta email and the client may check out the website.

 

Anyways these are minor issues. More major issue is getting a good site done which might take a while!

teamdeltaforce.org mail ids.....but there too you have something to
decide.....either using google apps or install a mail service on the
server......If you are up for the later i think roundcube is the
best....but google apps will be much easier to use....(or maybe till
we develop our own email client :).....). And for the blog we ought to
go on with wordpress....(this too till we make our own...)...but
installing them will not be much of a problem considering getting
traffic into the site....

Mail service is already available and you can make google catch the emails or have the mail id directly forward to your mailbox. But also available is roundCube or squirrel mail [which we wont need to use much anyway if we forward mails and set profile of sender as well in google] .

And wordpress is light and has features and plugins to make Search engine optimisation much better. That is one reason i would definitely prefer wordpress. I have heard a few times about wordpress plugins causing some problems but we may need only the basic one. And as easy as it may seem to get a blog coded i would say its reinventing the wheel! Atleast since its a very specific need with a pretty solid solution existing. And to counter the obvious question on the reason I dont say this for Pragyan CMS vs Joomla is that the focus is on developing solutions specific to our need unlike the blog which is for the same purpose.

For blog, wordpress looks fine to me. For forums, I think we should use phpBB. And for the main CMS, as of now, we should use Joomla. When pragyan v3 is ready we'll shift to it..

And nice said by Kulz, we shudn't be coding a blog again because we're sure no ones gonna use it when they've wordpress. But Pragyan CMS is different and it stands out because of its numerous modules that come along with it like hospi,pr,news,scroller,pdf,etc basically its a all-in-one CMS which can be used not only for normal websites but also for active websites like those of techfests which requires quizzes, forums, forms, registration and most important of all - page-wise permissions.. As far as I know, I dont see anyother CMS that does all of them ..

By making our own blog...i meant it as a module in the CMS, like the
forum module...thats all..and one more thing i was planning to suggest
is that, we could include a global chat option and online
members .....if enabled will show the online members and also chat
will be useful for those using the site to interact.....not like in a
social type.....but more if a technical type......

suggestion: adding 'Pragyan CMS Template Gallery' to the delta site,
where we could design and load a lot of themes, so that users can
choose from a wide variety of themes and download them

@shiva: That is the main idea behind the task 2 for
designers.....Select the best from the lot that is submitted and
release them as official Pragyan CMS templates.....
