Is there a way to install Autodesk Manufacturing Data Exchange Utility 2021.1 without installing Powermill 2021? I downloaded the update to AMDEU from my Autodesk account, but it will not install without AMDEU 2021 already existing on the PC. I cannot find a stand-alone installation of AMDEU 2021.
Yes, PowerMill 2019.1 succeeds PowerMill 2019.0.4 and contains everything that 2019.0.4 contains. Presumably it's the Autodesk Desktop App that continues to notify you? PowerMill 2019.0.4 should disappear from Autodesk Desktop App after you've updated to PowerMill 2019.1.
As you're not seeing the intended behaviour, would you mind answering a couple of questions so we can look into whether there's something we need to fix on our side? Did you update to 2019.1 from the Autodesk Desktop App or did you download it from your account? What version of PowerMill 2019 did you update to 2019.1 from?
My apologies. My previous answer is correct if you installed 2019.1 from the Autodesk Desktop App. Things may be different if you installed from your account page. So, as @irina.zoteeva said, can you tell us where you installed it from please?
Initially I installed Autodesk PowerMill Ultimate 2019, went to Autodesk Desktop App and that said no updates. Then over the course of a few days the updates started to drip feed through the desktop app, after one or many I installed them and checked for updates but then said no new updates.
In our environment we are trying to create a build so I installed Autodesk PowerMill Ultimate 2019 and downloaded the updates from the acccount so I could apply them all, I installed all available updates to 2019.1
The issue is with Autodesk Account Page, where you must install all the updates gradually from 2019.0.1 to 2019.1 without missing any of them, if you have missed it, you are in trouble, it's limitation of Autodesk Account Page.
Like I said previously, the tradtional Autodesk applications like AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max etc all seem to put down all updates when you click Check for Updates - not show "No new updates" in between them.
I just don't have this problem with other Autodesk related apps where I haven't signed into the Desktop App, installed Autodesk applications from media provided to us (not through the Desktop App) and then just Checked for Updates in the Desktop App.
Hi @irina.zoteeva, I followed those instructions and I still can't update to 19.1, install fails...I get an error message saying another version is already installed??? No other version is installed. I couldn't delete the SDS folder from C:\ProgramData\Autodesk...I get a message saying a file or folder is open in another file??
It only feels like yesterday when Autodesk released PowerMill 2020.1, with its enhanced usability, new model filleting tool, and faster calculation speeds (check out this blog post if you missed the 2020.1 update). Yet here we are, nearing the end of 2019, and guess what, PowerMill 2020.2 is hitting the streets already!
While the machine operator cannot save the PowerMill project or export data (such as modified NC programs) they can use the Viewer to identify problems before starting the machining operation. This allows them to raise any issues with the CAM programmer earlier in the process and avoid costly delays once the machining has begun.
The Viewer provides a tool that sales representatives can use during discussions with clients either during quotation stages of projects, or at a later time when projects are being reviewed. The Viewer enables the sales representative to carry out common tasks, such as:
The PowerMill Viewer allows stakeholders within your organization to collaborate more effectively. More members of your team now have access to better insights into the CNC machining elements of your manufacturing process. This allows better decisions to be made sooner in the process and can help reduce or prevent mistakes or miscommunications from happening. The Viewer really should allow your company to do more, do it better, and spend less time doing it.

Steep and Shallow finishing: Improved quality of toolpaths when machining models with open pockets, including the option to add staggered links. Faster calculation: Multiple speed improvements affect Curve Projection finishing, spun profile for turning, machining undercuts with Constant-Z, and open and save projects. Leads and links: Automatically extend lead moves to avoid collisions when machining undercuts, and shorten the ends of toolpath segments to accommodate gouge-free lead in/out moves. Additive toolpaths: Combine additive toolpaths such that segments with the same layer index are grouped together. You can also download Autodesk Structural Bridge Design 2022.
