A possible intermittent performance issue:

• What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit the PAHMA Delphi home page at http://pahma.berkeley.edu/delphi
2. Enter "California" into the "Search" field.
3. Click the "Search" button

• What is the expected output?
The results of that search.

• What do you see instead?
EITHER:
If no error occurs, the results of the search are displayed, showing
thumbnails and links to the first 36 records of over >12,000 records
matching the search.
OR:
An error from an HTTP proxy server associated with the IST Unix Webfarm,
similar to the following:

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request

Natasha Johnson reported having encountered this error in an email sent to
Patrick Schmitz and Michael Black on Thursday, January 14, 2010 9:55 AM.

Patrick's initial thoughts: "It may be that our app timed out on an
expensive query or on too much work in the PHP. Searching on 'California'
is slow, because it has to churn through tons of results."
