I'm doing a service on my mum's 206, and will soon be servicing my sister-in-law's 307. I'd like to be able to scan the cars for faults and wondered what the crack is with Peugeot diagnostic software?
One of my mates bought Peugeot Planet/Lexia (the peugeot/citroen diagnostic OBD II interface and software) for about 99 from ebay. Came with the software and seems to work fine, weve tested it on quite a few cars now. Very useful for resetting DPF errors etc!
you can download the peugeot planet software (and updates) online but your need the lexia interface which is still around the 100 mark off ebay so it works out easyer just to get the interface and software off ebay.
Works on my laptop, win 7 64bit. As said above its the interface that costs the money so easier just to buy the package. Mines paid for itself already by turning the stupid tyre pressure sensors off on a Citroen c5
It is good because you can turn things on like cruise control and the onboard computer if you fit the right switch. Cruise control cannot be retro fitted on a 307 with a Siemens 2.0 HDI 90 though as I found out
I'm running it on an xp pro laptop I bought from Anthony as a specific diagnostics machine & I've also bought the galletto leads so I can read & reflash ecu's in an attempt to fix my 306 hdi ecu which locked itself & lost communication with the cph unit so it wouldn't unlock & start.

What the difference is among Lexia 3 citroen peugeot diagnostic tool, Diagbox and Peugeot Planet PP2000, which would be a good idea for a total newbie in car diagnostics software that Lexia 3 citroen peugeot diagnostic tool cable required.
I have planet and also being a newbie installed planet then diagbox they both worked fine though diagbox was a lot slower (you have to start diagbox then choose planet off the option list) so basically if its just for use on your own car then using planet on its own is easier and faster though if your going to attempt using the interface on other vehicles may as well install diagbox with planet and Lexia 3 citroen peugeot diagnostic tool
What I do is install VMWare Player (free). Using that, create a virtual machine XP SP3 32-bit (you will need the disk and key). Then install Planet into that. Works well. Sounds very techy, but it is surprisingly easy, because VMWare is so well documented. When installing Planet, do not plug the Lexia 3 citroen peugeot diagnostic tool interface in to the PC until prompted.
This are especially helpful in helping the person understanding, speeding up the diagnoses of their vehicles, and helping them to understand their vehicle's performance. Once you peugeot planet scanners are here to stay, and enjoy great deals. You will also find great deals and enjoy great deals.
I've been getting my ABS light on and off for a while now.
I have had all breaks done track rod ends done and i needed a new vanbelt and took out the aircon and a pulley that the van belt connected onto as that was the only way the mechanic said he could do it.....
long story short the light has never went off i spent 400 on it already getting things done and now this anti pollutin fault light came up today the car was driving very slowly
what does this mean?
do you know how i could fix this or whats broke??
If your sensors and their gaps are OK then next thing to check is the ABS unit. Its mounted in the front nearside wing, behind wheel arch liner. If the liner is missing or cracked then the unit can get exposed to dirt and crud.
If this has only happened since you had work done, you need to double check the work, see if they've not reconnected something. Failing that, a BSI reset resets the system and costs nothing (google Peugeot BSI reset).
The "Anti-pollution fault" is a generic error message and can mean literally dozens of things. If yours has gone into limp mode then I'm guessing its a 110bhp model (the 90 doesn't go into limp mode), so you can factor in DPF issues into that too.
You need to get it on a decent diagnostic scanner (I recommend Peugeot Planet) for accurate results. Google "Peugeot Planet owners" to find a fellow Pug owner near to you who has the diagnostic gear and will be cheaper than a garage.
I have a Peugeot 407 2.0 Petrol 2006 which I am having a few problems with. ESP/ASR, Depollution System Faulty and Engine Management Light on. Had a diagnostic done on the car as it started cutting out whilst driving and sometimes having problems starting. The fault codes I have are: PO351 and PO352, P1693 and U2000. The car has been serviced and only passed it MOT last week with flying colours. On research some forums have advised to change the coil pack which I have done, although this was only changed 21 months ago, but did it to be on the safe side and nothing changed. I have taken it to an autoelectrician as advised this could be due to wiring, but no issues with wiring, but they advised it was either the coil pack or the ECU. I have been advised that the ECU can be tested and repaired if possible, but wondered if anyone out there can offer me some advice as I have been told so many different things, including the fact that this fault could be incorrect - it may be something else presenting itself as this fault (a costly one), when it fact it could be something as simple as a sensor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The important thing is that you talk to or take it to someone who knows Peugeots. Don't go near a "fix anything" garage with a "scan anything" code reader, as they'll be vague and throw parts at the problem at your expense. For example the P0351 and P0352 codes could be a number of things, from faulty coil pack to a bad fuse box, or even the timing out a couple of notches.
When you have vague unconnected issues, I'd be tempted to look at the battery first. A small drop in the standard voltage can cause all manner of electrical glitches, even if the car sounds like its starting fine. How old is the battery?
Post your question on peugeotforums.com or 407owners.com forums where there are lots of 407 owners who'll be able to give accurate advice. Put the P codes in the search boxes of those sites and you'll see how other owners have had and dealt with the problems.
But like I say, there can be various different reasons for the codes, and a little research and investigation and Peugeot knowledge is needed before condemning a part - the biggest custom we have on these forums are from a new member who has had a problem, had a part replaced based on just the code read, then when it hasn't fixed the problem, just got shoulder shrugging from the garage.
Thank you for your response to my post. I had a new battery 6 weeks ago and the fault codes listed were diagnosed by Peugeot Planet software. My car does not have a turbo so that can not be faulty. I know the fault PO351 states "intermittent fault. 1 ignition coil control open circuit, short circuit to positive and PO352 states "intermittent fault. 2 ignition coil control open circuit, short circuit to positive. Any further help would be appreciated. I dont want to be throwing money at it for nothing. Thanks.
Thanks again for your reply. I am very confused - the code is definitely P1693, but I definitely do not have a turbo - the print out states "Intermittent fault. Controlled engine starting and stopping anomaly. Then under richness regulation status it says "open loop (conditions for switching to a closed loop not yet satisfied).
Had a diagnostic performed at Peugeot today. Fault codes PO351 and PO352 found only. They are clueless. Telling me could be coil pack which i had a new one put on 2 weeks ago. Could be wiring which they could check or ecu. Help! Why is it never a simple one answer solution.

A French dealer renowned for the sporty qualities of its small cars, Peugeot is as popular now as it was nearly a hundred years ago. A part of PSA Peugeot Citroen, the family business that preceded the current company was founded back in 1810, although in those days they manufactured bicycles and coffee mills!
