From the Brewing Classic Styles book. I plan on brewing this soon.

2# Pils
3# Munich
7# Wheat
6 oz Crystal 40L
6 oz Special B (I don't have any, any suggestions for a sub?)
2 oz Carafa II Special

1.4 oz Hallertau 4% AA (around 16 IBU)

2 Packats of Dan Star Munich dry yeast (never used before thought I'd
give it try with this beer).

Anyone can think of a sub for Special B? I have CaraRed, CaraVienna,
Amber, CaraWheat, Crystal 80L, Crystal 120L.

From those, I'd use crystal 120. Maybe consider adding a little more since special b is a little milder than crystal 120. 8oz?

Yes...I'd also suggest crystal 120L.

Special B lends that raisiny flavor that you'll miss with Crystal 120L but it will work in a pinch.

You can also try 4 oz Crystal 120L and 1/2 cup Blackstrap molasses which will lend the dark fruit character.

Thanks Jim and Ron.  I was thinking along the same lines.  I was guessing C 120L and I have  some Candi Syrup Inc D-180 a real dark liquid candi sugar.  I was saving that for a dubbel but I will just more of it later on!!

Thanks again!!
