We saw a case where the cart returned a tax amount of $1.50, but the customer was actually charged $1.68.

What could be causing this?

Tax line did have asterisks in the cart, not sure if that is relevant: **:tax=>1.5**

Can send screenshots privately.

Thanks!

Hi Allison,

Please provide can you provide the screenshot you mentioned, including your client id, and the user's email?

Hi Allison,

The  $1.68 tax is from the subtotal + the delivery fee.  If you don't pass an address to the cart you won't get the fees with the updated tax information. If you are doing a delivery order, you need to pass the address.

Hey Lawren - I confirmed with our developers that we have been passing the address with the cart, and we are usually getting the fees and accurate tax info. But we have identified one specific merchant where the tax info seems to be consistently off by $0.18. I'll direct message you with the merchant name.

Hi,

When you make a cart call and it is a delivery order, you must pass in the address.  Doing so will provide the fees and updated tax information.  If you don't pass in the address then you won't get any fees, therefore, won't get a tax update.  So the question is when you are making your cart call for a DELIVERY order, are you passing the address?
