StackOverflow on a large pipeline view

Hi. I haven't done much investigating yet so I can't be super helpful, but wanted to get this on your radars all the same.  We have a rather large build pipeline that triggers many tasks -- none of which that I know of will cause any cycles.  

We began seeing StackOverflow exceptions after upgrading to the latest version 0.9.12 and we have traced it to many calls to the following method.


Any ideas what might have changed that would have caused this?  It used to work prior to 0.9.12.

nevermind. one of our engineers accidently added the job as a downstream of itself.  So, there was an unintentional cycle.

However, this does appear to show a regression since I noticed there was a ticket closed a while back to WARN the user if there is a cycle
