The event will showcase the works of Asian women directors in a range of genres - animation, documentary, experimental, short fiction, feature fiction and television reportage. The director could be living in any part of the world but should be of Asian origin.
In the 2014 edition of the festival we seek to have a diverse and exciting selection of films that show courage in the choice of both content and form. Apart from the general programme, there will be some special curated sections. We will share the details about these in the coming weeks.
2013 Festival
The 2013 edition of the festival was an overwhelming success. We screened 44 films at three different venues. We had 29 filmmakers participating and leading post screening discussions. The countries in focus were Iran and South Korea. We also had a selection of Indian student films.
Travelling Festivals
Selections from previous editions of the festival have travelled to various Indian cities—Ahmedabad, Auroville, Calicut, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Puducherry, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. A package was also screened at the Herat Film Festival 2013, Vasakh Film festival 2012, Lahore, Birds Eye View Film Festival 2011, London and at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala 2011.
