A prominent New York based founder of several technology & finance organisations (http://www.tower-research.com/, http://openplans.org/, etc) and a Philanthropist Mr. MARK GORTON is visiting Delhi.

 

We are happy to inform you that Delhi Cycling Club (www.delhicycling.org) is organising a Talk by Mark Gorton at 4.00 PM on Monday, 6th February at Gandhi Peace Foundation (near ITO) in association with Institute for Transportation & Development Policy (www.itdp.org).

 

You are cordially invited to participate in the event and interact with Mark Gorton. Title of his talk is “Rethinking the Automobile: Lessons from 100 years of Urban experience” and he will speak on issues related to Sustainable Transportation; Role of Information Technology, New Media, and Advocacy; and need to Building more livable, safer and equitable cities.  Mark will also share ideas and experience on bridging gap between cities and citizens in decision-making process.

 

Mark holds Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and MBA from Harvard University.  Mark and his company ‘Tower Research Capital’ has been a regular recruiter at IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay and some other universities during last few years. 

 

He lives on the Upper West Side in NY city and cycles regularly to his offices in Lower Manhattan.

 

The talk shall be followed by a Q&A session and high tea.
