INDIAN GREY HORNBILL

This is one Bird Species that is Faithful and Caring for the Spouse.
Most Bird Species, Male would woo the Female, have fun and
then say ’Thank You” and go off for fun elsewhere.

Of course, Male of this Species would woo the Female by offering
the juiciest of fruits.  Once the business is complete for the season,
the Female gets into the Nest (a Large Hole in Tree Trunk), The nest
is sealed with just a slit of an opening for Food, Lays Eggs and
Incubates the Chicks.

While the Female is in, the Male does serious work - feeds himself
and then carries for food for the Female and then the Chicks.

The Slit is broken when the Chicks are ready to fledge.

What fun I have had watching the Male, on two Occasions when
I spotted the Nest, bringing food regularly.

These are Residents in our Sector.  Were seen most mornings but
could catch them on Celluloid only on a couple of Occasion.
April Fool’s day was one when got these images.

Enjoy.
