Good to watch these Indian Silverbills when these decide to
stop over at the Terrace or nearby.

Morning of 24th April, these were very active.  There
was ‘amorous’ behaviour but nothing fructified though I
got my fill of the photographs.

Based on the observations in the past, their breeding
season varies.  Saw some Juveniles in February -
may be another Breeding round now.  Enough food
available around

TRIVIA:

1. A bird that Weighs about 10-14 Grams lays 3-8 Eggs.
2. Male is known as Cock and Female as Hen.
3. Male entices the Female by an ‘offering’ [in this case
the Male had offered Bajra (Pearl Millet ?) but the female
was not obliging]
4. Male supplies the Nesting Material and Female constructs
the Nest.

Enjoy
