Hobby Project, Help required

    I am currently picking up a hobby project, and I want to know the feasibility of it and also the minimum cost required to make a basic prototype of the same. I want to make a humidity and moisture sensor, that would tell the humidity and moisture content present in the room, and I want to interface it with Pi and send the same data to a central server.
    I have been going through lots of tutorial online and reading about the same, but still any valuable input from you guys will be appreciated.

These seem to be the cheapest and available here.
