Dear all,
We wish to inform you that a very young artist is envisioning to spread awareness on gender - based violence through her Kathak performances, one of the most elegant and evocative art forms.
She had raised funds for a few organisations which are working on violence against women.
Ananya , the artist from Rhythms of Resilience will conduct workshops and give performances.
JWP is working on a workshop for 2 of their projects next month.
The performance of Ananya at Triveni Kala sangam was witnessed and appreciated by a packed audience!!
Padmashree Shovna Narayan and Padmashree Madhvi Mudgal graced the occasion spoke highly of the concept!
Below is a small write up by the artist :
"Rhythms of Resilience aims to raise awareness of gender-based violence through Kathak. Art, an expressive form of communication and translation, can often make people aware by evoking emotions within them, as the dancer allows them to imagine the hardships victims undergo. After a successful show at Triveni Kala Sangam, we are looking to do more performances and require platforms.
Moreover, I hope to conduct workshops on punishment laws, art therapy for victims, and actions one can take through the medium of art, including singing, painting, and writing if they can. This will be an engaging way for them to learn, and the art will incentivise them to take part and remember. "
The artist who is all of 17 years and her initiative to take the message to a diverse audience is praiseworthy.
Hope to see her perform in all our organisations who are deeply committed to empowering all genders to resist and speak up against violence
Kindly contact her through her mail id for further details.
Do share the information with your contacts.
